More About Me
Hi! My name is Steven and I am a passionate high-school student. I was born in Dalian, but I currently have school in Shenzhen. It was through this process of having school in a completely different part of a country that I realized that identity can be lost. My hobbies, personality, and tastes changed drastically as I moved from a seaside city to a metropolis. This is when I took notice of the concept of “roots” and “identity.” I linked these two concepts with my passion for exploring minority group culture and realized that the loss of identity is the most remarkable in these minority groups. It would be a pity if the culture, religion, and memories of these minority groups died out, so I decided to take action to hold parts of these heritages and remembrance in a safe place. I, thus, created this Black Dragon Legacy Project to let more people know the beauty and significance of the Oroqen culture and reverse the stereotype that their culture is “barbarous.” I want to draw attention to the issue of identity loss and encourage more action to salvage the loss.
